Marina Parkin is a Certified Public Accountant who focuses upon tax planning and compliance for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and other businesses. In 1999, Ms. Parkin received her Bachelor of Business Administration from Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto. She then worked for Deloitte & Touche for four years, gaining extensive experience in accounting, auditing and taxation. She became a Canadian Chartered Accountant in 2001 and a United States Certified Public Accountant in 2003. Shortly after that, she moved to Sarasota and continued working in the area of taxation.
Ms. Parkin is a member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario (ICAO). She is a Canadian Chartered Accountant and a US Certified Public Accountant in both Illinois and Florida.
Jo Ann M. Koontz is trained as both an attorney and certified public accountant. She focuses in the areas of tax, real estate, and business law. She assists clients on a wide range of tax and business matters, including residential and commercial real estate transactions, business formation, reorganizations, and taxation issues.
In addition to providing comprehensive tax and business planning services, Jo Ann Koontz has been representing clients involved in tax disputes with the Internal Revenue Service for more than 15 years. She first began working in public accounting in 1998 and has handled cases involving audits, appeals, and collection matters. She is dedicated to working closely with clients and advising them of the potential tax consequences of business decisions. She also assists clients in creating tax planning strategies.
Jo Ann Koontz received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentration in Accounting from Ohio Northern University in 2001. In 2003, she received her Certified Public Accountant License; and in 2006, she received her Juris Doctor from Ohio Northern University. She is admitted to the Florida Bar, the United States District Court Middle District of Florida, and the United States Tax Court. She is also a member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and holds a CPA license in Ohio. She is one of the small number of dual certified attorney and certified public accountants.
